How segmentation works in Strella
Segmentation uses session tags. You apply one or more tags to individual sessions, and those tags become filter options in the Responses tab. Once filtered, you can use the search bar or Ask Strella to dig into that specific group’s data.Step 1: Tag your sessions
1
Open an individual session
Navigate to Results > Sessions and click into the session you want to tag.
2
Click Add tags
Find the Add tags option within the session detail view and click it.
3
Create or select a tag
Type a new tag name and press Enter to create it, or click an existing tag from the dropdown to reuse it across sessions.
4
Repeat for other sessions
Return to the Sessions tab and tag any additional sessions that belong to the same segment. You can apply the same tag to as many sessions as needed.
Step 2: Filter by tag in the Responses tab
1
Go to the Responses tab
Navigate to Results > Responses.
2
Open Filters
Click Filters near the top of the tab to expand the filter options.
3
Select Session Tags
Choose Session Tags from the filter dropdown menu.
4
Pick your segment
Select the tag corresponding to the segment you want to analyze. The Responses tab will immediately filter down to show only responses from sessions with that tag.
Step 3: Analyze your segment
With the filter active, use either tool to explore the segment’s data:Keyword Search
Type a word or phrase into the search bar to surface only the response lines where that term appears within your filtered segment.
Ask Strella
Use the Ask Strella chat feature to ask open-ended questions about the filtered segment and get AI-powered answers drawn from those specific responses.
You can combine session tag filters with other filter types — like screener response filters — to create highly specific segments for more nuanced analysis.
