Adding media to your question guide lets participants see, explore, and react to real stimuli during the interview—whether that’s a concept image, a working prototype, or a live website. When participants have visual context, the AI moderator can ask sharper follow-up questions and you walk away with more actionable insights.

Why Add Media

Researchers add media to a question guide for two main reasons:
  • Test concepts — Show participants images, prototypes, or embedded content to gather direct reactions and feedback.
  • Observe live interaction — Watch how participants navigate a real website or app while the AI moderator asks questions in real time.

How to Add a Media Step

1

Open the Add a Step panel

In the left-hand question guide panel, scroll to the bottom and click Add a step.
2

Scroll to the media section

Scroll through the element options until you reach the media types.
3

Select a media type

Click the media type you want to insert. The available options are described below.
4

Configure the media in the right-hand panel

After selecting a media type, fill in the relevant details—such as a URL, an uploaded file, or an embed code—in the panel on the right side of the screen.

Available Media Types

Display an interactive Figma prototype so participants can click through your design mockup while the AI moderator guides them and captures feedback. Ideal for usability testing and concept validation.
Make sure your Figma file is set to Anyone with the link can view before adding it to the guide.

Walkthrough: Adding a Website

Here is a step-by-step example of adding a live website so participants can navigate through it while the AI moderator asks questions.
1

Select Website from Add a step

Click Add a step at the bottom of the left panel, scroll to the media section, and select Website.
2

Paste the URL and import

In the right-hand panel, paste the URL of the website you want participants to visit, then click Import website URL.
3

Add questions, tasks, and statements

Click the three dots next to the website label in the left panel, then click Add step. Add any questions, tasks, or statements you want the AI moderator to deliver while the website is open.
4

Confirm the step nesting

Review the left panel to confirm that your questions, tasks, and statements are nested inside the website element. Only steps nested within the website toggle will be asked while the site is visible on screen.
Follow the same pattern for other media types—each one supports nested steps so you can pair media with targeted questions and tasks.
